Pencil Project

Focusing on the meaning and potential of
a simple object, a pencil was chosen as an     instrument to inspire thought and action     during National Turnoff TV Week within the     local public elementary school. The intent     of the project was to encourage     participation in National Turnoff TV Week     through the engagement of writing,     drawing, and games requiring a pencil, to     highlight the negative affects of over     television exposure through the display of     informational graphics, and to engage the     community: parents, students and     teachers in the process of planning,     distributing, and discussion the meaning
of the event in contemporary American     culture.
